Positively Parenting Children in the Home

Parenting children in a positive manner is one of the skills many of us do not possess due to the poor parenting methods we received and observed when growing up. This course will develop our parent-child relations and formulate a more direct approach in gaining a desired behaviour whereby our children will develop high self-esteem and appreciate structure for good manners. Understanding Childhood Development

Childhood development will look at the psychological, emotional and physical needs of our children. We will look at the fetus to early infancy and to look more analytically at the developmental stages of early childhood and their socialization potential. We will then look more closely at the developmental processes of adolescence and how some of the rudimentary changes occur in their lives. Young adults and parent who do this course find that their ability to deal with changes either by growing up are by being parents shapes a new attitude and approach to understanding the developmental changes that happen during these turbulent times. By the end of this module youngsters and parents will provide themselves with tools to ensure a more positive outlook in their approach and methods in which they find themselves in.

Family, Friends and Relationships

This section will concentrate on the family structure and function of everyday life. The family is the cornerstone of any society and without it society does not function harmoniously as it should. We will delve into the issues parents face in a relationship and how to cope or survive them, when the relationship has terminated and we still need to be parents or carers. We will look at why relationships fail and what we can do to repair them if we are still together or apart. We will look at the social aspects children go through once their parents or carers split and what sort of help and are available to get us through each day as well as the child.

PP100 – Pupils and Children with Behaviour Problems and Education

This section will look at the main causes and effects of some of the most recent diagnosed disorders and conditions in children and why they exist. This session will shed light on some of the most common disorders such as: ADHD, Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiance.

PP10 – Children at Home and in School

This section will take a deeper look into the relationships children have at home and in school, to see what types of socialisation processes are involved in their internal and external developments.

PP115 – Children and Technology

What is technology doing to the brains and behaviour of our children? And what can we do to reduce its negative impact on their personal development? Game consoles and social media will be assessed in great detail to enter into the cyber world of our developing children.

PP120 – Modern Families and its function

The family structure has changed over the last 3 decades with little attention being paid to the effects of family breakdowns have on the child development. This section will look at its impact and effects it has on the minds of children.

PP125 – Child Education and Training

Children are socialised to become mature and productive adults in order to benefit the society in which they live. This training session will introduce adults who are involved with or want to be part of homework clubs, supplementary schools, mentoring and fostering.

PP130 – Early Child Development Years (0 – 11 years)

Children are born to be nurtured by their caregivers in order to grow up strong and independent. This training session will look at the developmental stages of child progress and how they relate to the natural world in which they live.

PP135 – Teen Development from Adolescence to Maturity (12 – 19 Years)

Teenagers experience so many issues as a result of physical and psychological chances that it escapes their parents/carers mind that they have many problems due to the society they are entering upon. This session will examine teenage brain activity along with their physical and social developments. We look also at stress reduction as well as conflict resolutions.

PP140 – Youth Culture and Music Its Impact on Modern Societies

Since the mid 1980’s MTV has made music more accessible to children in the West. This training session will look at many of the images and symbols that are presented in many of the music videos and how its psychological implications shape the minds of our children.

PP145 – Parenting Skills and Development

This training session will take a look at the parental skills of adults and to give different approaches to rearing children in the 21st century. We will use psychological theories based on parental styles which involve firm and warmth methods that produce balanced parenting in a modern society.
